BRING A BETTER QUESTION

A reflection library
for your AI assistant.

Give the assistant you already use access to original exercises for life’s difficult questions. Our public MCP connection is free and read-only.

Add the server

In an assistant that supports remote MCP servers, add this URL with Streamable HTTP transport. No API key or account is required.

https://startclosein.com/api/mcp

MCP protocol 2025-11-25, using the official TypeScript SDK. Stateless JSON responses; no persistent SSE connection. Client configuration names vary.

    "start-close-in": {
      "url": "https://startclosein.com/api/mcp"
    }

Three useful tools

Try asking

“Find a Start Close In exercise for exploring more fulfilling work. Walk me through it one question at a time, without deciding for me.”

Public resources. Personal boundaries.

The connection exposes published exercises, our approach, and public journal articles. There are 37 public resources: 17 non-sensitive exercises, one methodology, 15 articles, and four tool guides. The optional legacy exercise is available through the consent-aware tool. It cannot access personal notebooks, accounts, conversations, private Notion material, or email. It does not make paid AI calls.

Use generic search terms. Your assistant’s provider can see what you share in its conversation; its own privacy terms apply. Sensitive legacy prompts require explicit opt-in through allowSensitive: true. A values exercise is always a gentler alternative.

These are thinking tools, not therapy or validated tests. Help people explore possibilities, recognize uncertainty, and keep the choice theirs.
