8 MINUTES · A GUIDED REFLECTION

What is yours to carry

Separate what you can choose, what you can influence, and what you cannot control.

WHAT YOU MIGHT LEAVE WITH

One action within your control, one request for support, and one uncertainty you can leave unresolved for now.

  1. What situation is taking up the most space in your mind?

Describe what is happening and what you wish were different. You do not have to force yourself to feel calm or grateful about it.

  2. Which parts are directly yours to choose?

Your next action, how you communicate, a boundary, or whether to ask for support may be within reach. Other people’s feelings and choices are not yours to control.

  3. What can you influence, and what would require someone else’s choice?

Name one request, conversation, or shared plan. Influence is a possibility, not a responsibility to produce an outcome.

  4. What remains outside your control, and what support would make that easier to bear?

Letting go does not mean approving of harm, giving up your rights, or staying in an unsafe situation. Consider trusted people and qualified help where needed.

  5. What will you do next, and what will you stop trying to solve today?

Choose a small action and a gentle limit on rumination. You can return to the unresolved question when there is new information.
