12 MINUTES · A GUIDED REFLECTION

A purpose worth practicing

Explore a meaningful direction without demanding a single lifelong calling.

WHAT YOU MIGHT LEAVE WITH

A working purpose statement and one small contribution that could test it.

  1. When have you felt that what you were doing mattered?

Describe moments of care, craft, service, learning, or making. Your purpose does not need to be public, paid, or grand.

  2. Whose lives or what part of the world do you feel drawn to help?

Notice a need you care about and why it matters to you. You do not have to take responsibility for fixing everything.

  3. What can you bring, and what would you like to learn?

Consider your experience, attention, relationships, skills, and realistic capacity. Meaning can coexist with rest and ordinary responsibilities.

  4. How would you describe a direction you want to practice for now?

Try “I want to use… to help… because…”. If you like the idea of an MTP, treat it as a meaningful purpose to test, not a demand to transform the world.

  5. What small contribution would help you discover whether this fits?

Choose a conversation, volunteer session, piece of work, or act of care. Decide when to notice your energy, the impact, and what you learned.
